How Saraswati chose her vahana
Goddess Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, music, and learning. When she wanted a companion to travel with her and spread knowledge throughout the world, she looked for an animal that reflected her own qualities. She chose the Hamsa (swan) because it was calm, pure, graceful, and wise. In Hindu tradition, the swan is believed to have the symbolic ability to separate milk from water, representing the wisdom to distinguish truth from falsehood and good from bad. Since learning is not just about gaining knowledge but also about using it wisely, Saraswati accepted the swan as her vahana (divine vehicle).
